Information for you trip
Tourlane automatically offers you one eSIM, free of charge, added with every booking.
One of the Tourlane documents you received, includes the QR code for this eSIM. This free eSIM can be installed on one device.
It allows you to be easily connected abroad as soon as you arrive. No more having to buy a local SIM card.
Reach out to support@firsty.app if you want to buy additional eSIMs for the rest of your group.
What is an eSIM?
An eSIM is a digital SIM card that can be installed onto your phone.
The Firsty eSIM is able to connect to over 600+ networks worldwide, giving you immediate access to the Internet at your destination, with no complex technical setup and at no additional cost.
Benefits for you
Internet access as soon as you arrive
Navigation, translation, maps, and apps always available
Easy contact with our teams or your local services
Internet sharing possible with your family (hotspot)
No need to buy a local SIM card or use expensive roaming
What's included in your trip
One free eSIM per booking, regardless of the number of travelers
For every day of your trip, the eSIM gives you unlimited data, with 5GB at high speed
Phone compatibility
The eSIM only works on recent smartphone models.
If your phone is not eSIM compatible, you can of course continue using your regular SIM card or Wi-Fi. There is no replacement or compensation, as the eSIM is a complimentary service.
Install and activating your eSIM
Please install your eSIM BEFORE your trip, for instance on the day of the departure, at home, while connected to a strong and stable Wi-Fi network. It should only take a couple of minutes.
Installation steps - do this the day before you leave on a stable wifi connection (3 mins)
Open the document Tourlane has sent you. This contains your personal QR code.
Scan the QR code on your phone via:
Settings → Mobile Service/Network → Add Mobile PlanInstallation takes just a few seconds. For iOS26 users, make sure to indicate it is a Travel eSIM, and as 'data only'. Mind that for iOS users, the eSIM might not be called Firsty, but Travel-BICS
Last steps to get connected: do this just before you leave
Go to the eSIM via Settings → Mobile Service/Network → SIMs , turn it on.
Turn on Data Roaming for the Firsty eSIM
To avoid roaming fees, disable data roaming of your primary sim.
The Firsty eSIM is a data-only eSIM. If you still want to be reachable via your phone number, make sure that your default line for voice is still your primary SIM.
3. Go to Settings → Mobile Service Network → Mobile data. Make sure mobile data is set to your new eSIM from Firsty. The name will likely include "Travel BICS"
Your phone will automatically connect to the network once you are in your destination, and activate the plan.
From that moment, all your apps that use the Internet (WhatsApp, FaceTime, etc.) will use the eSIM data.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I share my connection?
Yes, you can enable hotspot mode. Speed depends on local network quality.
Do I have Internet everywhere?
The eSIM provides mobile access in your destination, wherever a local network provides coverage.
In remote areas (deserts, mountains, national parks), connectivity may be limited - just like with any SIM card.
Can I decline the eSIM?
It is automatically included and free. It cannot be exchanged for another benefit. You can always decide not to use it.
What if I already have a personal eSIM?
You can choose which one to use or activate multiple eSIMs, depending on your phone’s capabilities.
Why this new feature?
We want to offer you a more comfortable, stress-free, and better-connected trip.
Many travelers don’t buy a local SIM and end up without data abroad. The eSIM avoids this and ensures peace of mind.
It’s a service designed to simplify your life, at no extra cost.
