Growth Analytics Intern

  • Department: Internships
  • Location: Amsterdam

The role

We’re looking for a sharp, sceptical, and commercially minded Growth Analytics Intern to be the person who actually knows whether things are working.

You won’t be pulling numbers into a spreadsheet for someone else to interpret. You’ll be the one telling a fast moving marketing team what the data actually says, including when it shows that something we spent 3 weeks on did not work.

Your mission is to turn a messy pile of product and marketing data into clear answers and practical recommendations. If you like questioning assumptions, finding the truth, and saying what you think, this is your playground.

What you’ll do

Measurement & truth-telling

  • Own the numbers behind marketing. Understand where users come from, where they drop off, and which channels bring paying customers instead of just downloads.

  • Measure what we ship. Every campaign, email, and product change gets a verdict before we decide what to do next.

  • Kill the vanity metrics. Push the team away from numbers that look good and towards the ones that actually predict customer value and revenue.

Insight & strategy

  • Challenge the story. Most teams run on assumptions nobody has checked. Your job is to check them.

  • Get ahead of the work. Before we build a campaign, work out whether it can reach the people it is aimed at and whether the opportunity is worth pursuing.

  • Turn analysis into a recommendation. A finding without a clear next step is incomplete. Explain what the data means and what the team should do about it.

Making it usable

  • Build things people actually open. Create dashboards, short summaries, and reports that the team uses when making decisions.

  • Fix the plumbing. When tracking is wrong, broken, or missing, spot it and work with our developers to get it fixed.

  • Present clearly. Explain a finding to a founder in 2 minutes without relying on a chart when necessary.

Who you are

  • You are opinionated and comfortable speaking up. If you think a campaign is a bad idea, we want to hear it in the meeting, not afterwards.

  • You have an eye for marketing. You are not just interested in the numbers. You notice why one message connects with an audience while another does not, and you have views on what we should say and to whom.

  • You have a "high figure it out" factor. Nobody needs to hand you a detailed ticket. When you hit a wall, you try to climb it before asking for help, and you enjoy learning new tools to find the answer.

  • You are comfortable being wrong. Some of your analyses will turn out to be off. You correct them quickly and without drama.

The basics

  • You are highly proficient in English, which is our company working language. Dutch is a plus, but not a requirement.

  • You are comfortable working with numbers and can analyse data independently.

  • Formal statistics training is not required. Curiosity and rigour matter more. SQL experience is a strong advantage.

  • You can explain a finding clearly in writing and defend your reasoning in a room.

  • You are available full-time for a minimum of 4 months, ideally 6, and can start as soon as possible.

The team & environment

  • You will work in our Amsterdam office alongside our core startup team.

  • Your daily tools will include Mixpanel and AppsFlyer for product and marketing analytics, SQL on our backend data warehouse (BigQuery, via Metabase), Intercom for lifecycle messaging, GA4 and Microsoft Clarity for the website, plus Google Suite, Slack, Notion, Figma, Claude, and the Firsty product itself.

  • You will sit inside the marketing team and take part in planning conversations, not just reporting conversations.

  • You will also use the Firsty product regularly, because you cannot properly measure something you do not understand.

Why Firsty?

  • Work directly with our team and influence important marketing and product decisions.

  • Learn quickly in a dynamic startup where your impact is visible from day 1.

  • Enjoy the freedom to experiment.

  • Get free breakfast and lunch at the office.

  • Join regular team events and work with an ambitious, curious team.

  • Receive a monthly internship allowance of €400.

  • Join a company culture where your proactive mindset matters more than your experience.

If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, we’d love to meet you.
