Questions? We've got you.

We know, it sounds too good to be true. But it’s real. Here’s how.

Is eSIM available in Malawi?

Yes, eSIM is available in Malawi! Firsty offers two main plans: Classic and Unlimited, providing flexible options for your data needs while traveling in Malawi.

What are the eSIM plans available in Malawi?

Firsty provides two eSIM options in Malawi:

Classic: Prepaid data bundles from 0.5 to 50 GB at the highest available speed, valid for 30 days after activation. A good fit for lighter users or shorter trips who want a fixed amount of data without paying by the day.

Unlimited: Unlimited data at the highest available speed, with 5 GB per day at full speed and 512 Kbps for the rest of the cycle. Best for streaming, video calls, hotspot use and longer trips.

How can I activate a travel eSIM for Malawi?

Activating a travel eSIM for Malawi is simple:

1. Ensure you have a stable Wi-Fi connection to download the Firsty app.

2. Open the app and follow the easy setup process to activate your Classic or Unlimited eSIM.

3. Upon arrival in Malawi, your eSIM will be ready to use based on your chosen plan.

4. For high-speed internet, upgrade to Unlimited, which can be easily purchased and activated through the app.

What is the best way to get data in Malawi?

The best way to get data in Malawi is by using Firsty’s Classic or Unlimited plan. Classic gives you a prepaid data bundle at the highest available speed, while Unlimited gives you unlimited daily data for streaming, video calls and hotspot use. Malawi’s leading mobile providers, such as Airtel Malawi and TNM (Telekom Networks Malawi), ensure that you are automatically connected to the best available network, whether you're in Lilongwe, Blantyre, or along the shores of Lake Malawi.

Can I create a hotspot with my eSIM Malawi plan?

Yes! With Unlimited, you can create a hotspot in Malawi to share your internet connection with others. This is especially useful when traveling with multiple devices or sharing your connection with friends while exploring destinations like Lake Malawi, Liwonde National Park, or Mount Mulanje. Please note that using a hotspot may consume your high-speed data more quickly.

Which Firsty plan should I use in Malawi?

It depends on how much data you use. Firsty Free gives you free, ad-supported data for essential apps like messaging, maps and email. Classic gives you a prepaid bundle from 0.5 to 50 GB at the highest available speed, so you know exactly what you spend. For streaming, social media and hotspot use, Unlimited gives you unlimited data from €2 per day, with 5 GB per day at full speed.
