Firsty and Grab: Making Connectivity Invisible Across Southeast Asia

Just eight months after kicking things off, Firsty's embedded connectivity is now reaching millions of people throughout Grab's super app ecosystem.

When Firsty and Grab launched their partnership in October 2025, we started in Singapore and Malaysia with a simple goal: to make global connectivity invisible for everyone using Grab for rides, food, and payments. Fast forward eight months, and that partnership is growing fast across Southeast Asia, digging even deeper into the Grab app experience.

The partnership tackled a real headache. Grab's 46 million monthly users needed reliable data to use the app while traveling, but high roaming fees and the hassle of switching SIM cards were always in the way. By putting Firsty right inside the Grab app, users can now activate global eSIM data without ever leaving. There's no extra app or confusing setupit just works.

Things are moving even faster now. Following the success in Singapore and Malaysia, Firsty is now live for users in the Philippines, with Vietnam and Thailand coming soon. As it rolls out, more people across the region can get connected directly through the app they use every day. It means millions of Grab users can catch a ride, order a meal, or travel abroad with connectivity built right into the experience.

This growth shows a big shift in how we get connected. Instead of being a standalone service, providers like Firsty are becoming part of the background, making sure the services we rely on just work. For Grab, it keeps users connected wherever they are. For Firsty, it's about reaching a huge audience through a platform people already trust, instead of just hoping for direct downloads.

The expansion proves that this partnership model really works. Grab brings the reach and the trust, while Firsty brings the tech and expertise. Together, they're making global connectivity as easy as booking a ride.
