Yoin is a Belgian mobile operator, formerly Youfone Belgium, that sells monthly GSM plans on the Proximus network with no fixed term. Plans run from 6 GB to 150 GB with unlimited calls and texts, at standard prices of €8.50 to €25 per month, and new customers currently pay a lower promotional price for the first 12 months. Yoin reviews on Trustpilot average 4.0 out of 5 from about 6,600 reviews. Two points stand out: 5G costs €1 extra on the two smallest plans, and outside the EU, calls, texts and data are always billed outside your bundle. Firsty is a telecom company too, so this review only uses what Yoin, Trustpilot and public review platforms published, checked on 14 October 2026.

Who is Yoin?
Yoin is the Belgian operator that entered the market as Youfone at the start of 2021. Yoin says the brand was renamed in April 2024 after KPN took over Youfone in the Netherlands, and the Belgian company now trades as Yoin NV. It sells its plans online and lets customers manage everything in the MyYoin app: usage, invoices, limits and family subscriptions.
Which network does Yoin use?
Yoin uses the Proximus network, so your coverage matches that of a Proximus SIM card. Yoin quotes 99% 4G coverage for that network. 5G and eSIM have been available since 2025.
Is Yoin part of Proximus?
No public source shows that Proximus owns Yoin. Yoin operates as a separate company that sells its own plans on the Proximus network, with its own prices, terms and customer service.
Yoin prices and plans
Yoin competes on price per GB. These are the plans published on 14 October 2026:
Data | Standard price | Promo price, first 12 months | 5G | Max data in the EU |
|---|---|---|---|---|
6 GB | €8.50 | €6.50 | €1 extra | Your full 6 GB |
30 GB | €10 | €7 | €1 extra | 15 GB |
60 GB | €14 | €11 | Included | 21 GB |
80 GB | €17 | €13 | Included | 26 GB |
150 GB | €25 | €21 | Included | 38 GB |
Three details matter once you are a customer:
The promo price ends. After the first year you pay the standard price in the second column.
Extra data costs €3 for 1 GB, €5 for 2 GB or €10 for 5 GB.
A data limit that stops usage when your bundle runs out costs €0.50 per month.
Number porting is free and Yoin stops your old subscription for you. Yoin says SIM cards arrive within three working days, and you have 14 days to change your mind. Read how to keep your number when you change mobile providers for the general steps in Belgium.
Yoin vs Mobile Vikings
Yoin and Mobile Vikings both run on the Proximus network, so the difference is not coverage but the offer around it. Mobile Vikings has belonged to Proximus since 2021, sells plans from €10 to €35 including three unlimited data plans, and blocks mobile data outside the European zone unless you buy a Global Data Pass. Yoin stops at 150 GB, has no unlimited plan and bills usage outside the EU at zone rates, with data abroad switched off by default. On Trustpilot, Mobile Vikings scores 4.5 from more than 9,000 reviews and Yoin 4.0 from about 6,600. The table below puts both side by side with other Belgian operators.

Yoin roaming
Inside the EU, your bundle works as it does at home, up to the fair use cap in the plan table. Usage beyond your bundle is charged at Belgian rates, and once out of bundle data costs reach €60.50, Yoin sends a text and blocks the connection. Outside the EU, every call, text and megabyte is billed outside your bundle at the rates for that zone. Yoin switches data outside the EU off by default, and you can set a limit or block all traffic outside Belgium in MyYoin. For trips further away, Yoin sells a separate Travel eSIM for more than 160 countries, starting at €4.
eSIM, 5G and the MyYoin app
Every Yoin plan is available as an eSIM, free for new customers. The eSIM is sent to you and you install it with a QR code. New to the technology? Read what an eSIM is and how it works. In MyYoin you follow your calls and data in real time, add or remove limits and manage a family account, with a discount for each extra family member. Through the friends scheme, you and a friend each get €10 off an invoice, up to five times a year.
Yoin customer service
You can call Yoin on 1988 from a Yoin GSM, free of charge, or on its general number 078 48 61 11, on weekdays from 9:00 to 18:00. Yoin answers emails within three working days and runs a chatbot 24/7.
What customers say
On Trustpilot, Yoin scores 4.0 out of 5 from 6,630 reviews: 58% give five stars and 13% give one star. Positive reviews often mention fast SIM delivery, a smooth number transfer and the amount of data for the price. Criticism on Trustpilot and Test Aankoop's complaint platform tends to focus on three themes: out of bundle charges, reaching customer service, and problems with number transfers or SIM activation.

Yoin reviews: the summary
Yoin sells data heavy GSM plans on the Proximus network without a fixed term, and most Trustpilot reviewers rate it four or five stars. The points to weigh are the price after the first year, the €1 for 5G on the smaller plans and how you want to stay connected outside the EU. Compare them with your own data use and travel before you decide.
Telecom that works for you
Most Belgian mobile plans still stop at the edge of a roaming zone, and travellers have to buy extras or watch their usage the moment they cross it. Firsty is building telecom that works for you, not against you: no SIM card to swap, no roaming setting to remember, no zone chart to check and no surprise bill. Every connection Firsty sells also connects someone in Belgium who needs it, not as charity, but because that is how the business works. Keep an eye on what Firsty is building, because things are moving, and discover more at Firsty.app.
