To cancel DIGI in Belgium, call customer care on 02 870 41 41, email care@digi-belgium.be, send a letter to DIGI, Gasthuisstraat 31, 1000 Brussels, or use the form on the DIGI website. DIGI confirms the cancellation and the end date by email. You can cancel at any time without a reason and without a cancellation fee, but the fee for the current month of a mobile subscription is not refunded. Switching to another operator? Don't cancel your mobile line yourself: let the new operator move your number, and your DIGI subscription ends on the day of the transfer.
How to cancel your DIGI subscription
How do I cancel my DIGI subscription? DIGI's general terms list four channels:
Channel | Details |
|---|---|
Phone: 02 870 41 41 | Monday to Saturday 8:00 to 22:00, Sunday 9:00 to 21:00 |
Email: care@digi-belgium.be | Same customer care team |
Letter, standard or registered | DIGI Communications Belgium, Gasthuisstraat 31, 1000 Brussels |
Form on the DIGI website | The withdrawal form, also accepted for a cancellation |
You receive an email confirming the cancellation and the date your contract ends. DIGI ends the service on the date you choose, or straight away where possible.
In My DIGI
My DIGI is DIGI's customer portal on the website, where you log in with your email address and password to track your usage, see your products and add a mobile subscription. DIGI does not describe a cancel button in My DIGI, so use one of the four channels above.
Changed your mind within 14 days?
Bought online or outside a DIGI point of sale? You have 14 days to withdraw, counted from the day after your subscription is confirmed or your equipment arrives. Call DIGI customer care on 02 870 41 41, and an advisor helps you send the withdrawal form before the 14 days are over. If you already used the service, you pay for what you used, and equipment goes back within 14 days after you tell DIGI.
What does cancelling DIGI cost?
Nothing, apart from these situations:
Situation | What happens |
|---|---|
Mobile subscription | The fee for the current month stays due and is not refunded |
Internet subscription | You pay pro rata until the cancellation date |
Router not returned within 15 days | A fixed compensation, and any deposit is kept |
Credit on your account | It stays on your account for future use |
Does the six month rule apply to you?
Only if you have an older or promotional contract with a fixed term. Belgian law (article 111/3 of the electronic communications act of 13 June 2005) lets an operator charge an early termination fee only in the first six months of a fixed term contract, and never more than the subscription fees up to month six. A DIGI contract runs for one month and then continues for an indefinite duration, so the six month fee does not apply to a standard DIGI contract. The Belgian telecom regulator BIPT explains the rules.
Prepaid: how long until it lapses?
A DIGI prepaid card must be activated or recharged within nine months of being issued, and each top up is valid for three months from the last top up. If you don't top up, your pack is deactivated automatically, and you have to top up and reactivate it yourself. Moving the number to another operator? Ask DIGI for a refund within one month after the transfer: only credit you bought is refunded, not bonus or free credit.
Cancelling DIGI fiber or 5G home internet
DIGI sells fiber internet and 5G Home Internet for addresses without fiber, but no TV. Cancel internet through the same channels as mobile, and switching to another provider works through Easy Switch, with the new operator cancelling DIGI for you. Return the router and other equipment within 15 days after the subscription ends. DIGI decides how you return it and may also collect it at your home.
What about a DIGI eSIM?
DIGI eSIMs arrive pre activated. Once the cancellation or the transfer of your number is complete, the DIGI line stops working, and you can delete the eSIM profile in your phone settings. Moving your number? Only delete the eSIM after the transfer is done, so you don't lose access to messages during the switch.
Switching? Keep your number
Keep your DIGI line active until your new operator has taken over your number. For a ported number, your DIGI contract ends on the day the number is actually transferred. Already cancelled? You can still request number porting within one month after the cancellation date.
Telecom that works for you
Leaving an operator should be as easy as joining one. Firsty is building telecom that works for you, not against you: no SIM card to swap, no roaming setting to remember, no zone chart to check and no surprise bill. Looking for a simple plan for daily use in Belgium? The Firsty 15 GB plan gives you 15 GB in Belgium and the EU, then 512 Kbps for the rest of the month instead of a cut off, unlimited local calls and texts and 1 GB in 176 countries outside Europe, with no contract. Calling family abroad? International calling with Firsty reaches more than 200 countries, with credit packs from €1 that never expire. Firsty's Belgian plans launch soon, and the waiting list is already open. Every connection Firsty sells also connects someone in Belgium who needs it, not as charity, but as how the business works. Keep an eye on what Firsty is building, because things are moving, and discover more at Firsty.app.
